Fiorentina, Raffaele Palladino: from'farewell to bet with Kean

Raffaele Palladino gave a lengthy interview to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ in which he returned to his farewell to Fiorentina: “I understand soccer as a puzzle, all the pieces have to fit together to work. I am proud of the work done in Florence, but there were no longer the conditions to move forward together. Too different ideas and visions”.
A strong choice, which came despite the contract renewal with the Viola: “I remember it well that day. At the moment it had pleased me, but reasoning then with a cold mind, I felt that staying was no longer possible. And I had been carrying that feeling inside me for a while’”.
Even the players were surprised: “Everyone. They didn’t expect it; I had only talked to my staff and then directly to the company. I have to say it: the video calls and messages from the boys made me cry. With them I experienced good moments and some very difficult ones, so something special was created. In fact, we still talk to each other today”.
He then revealed a bet with Moise Kean: “We had a bet set at 15: he won it. There was a spark with Moise, I already wanted him in Monza and he was the first name I mentioned, together with dt Goretti, when I arrived in Florence”.
The first name I mentioned was Kean.
“I study English, I go to the stadium and with my staff I analyze all Serie A matches: we have to keep ourselves ready. I was impressed by Giovane from Verona. I wanted him at Fiorentina in January, but the club made other choices” concluded Palladino.
