Paola Egonu not enough, second knockout in two days for Milan

The weekend in high altitude for Numia Vero Volleyball Milano ends with a fourth place.

The lineup led by coach Stefano Lavarini – accomplice to the tour de force of the last few days and the feeling still to be built among the girls – failed to express its best game and surrendered to the defending tournament champions of Prosecco Doc A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano.

The final score is 1-3 (19-25; 17-25; 25-21; 14-25) in favor of the Venetians; for Vero Volleyball top scorer of the evening is Egonu with 14 points, followed by Lanier who scores with 11 balls.

For Numia there will now be a lot of work to be done ahead of the start of the championship, set in the unusual Monday night match on Oct. 6 when, at the Opiquad Arena in Monza at 8:30 p.m., Egonu and her teammates will host Bergamo for the Lombardy derby that will mark the debut in the next Serie A1 Tigotà.
