Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, the magical moment continues.

After giving Italy the decisive point to reach the Billie Jean King Cup final (then won against the United States with only the singles matches needed), Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini continued their magical moment, starting the women’s doubles tournament in Beijing in the best possible way. Indeed, the Italian champions made it through the first round, beating Russia’s Irina Khromacheva and Indonesia’s Aldila Sutjadi 6-3, 6-2.
The match lasted 77 minutes and saw the two Italian stars manage both sets with relative ease: in the first, two consecutive breaks, in the fourth and sixth games, proved decisive, bringing the fraction to 5-1; in the second, the break came immediately and for Errani and Paolini’s opponents there was literally nothing to do.
Already known are the opponents who will face the Bolognese veteran and the best Italian player in the singles ranking in the second round: they are Lyudmyla Kichenok, from Ukraine, and Ellen Perez, from Australia. Kichenok most recently faced, in a Ukrainian jersey along with Marta Kostyuk, Errani and Paolini: in that match, Italy won the winning point that allowed the Azzurre to clinch a place in the final round of the “Women” Davis8220;

Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini are looking for their fourth success as a pair in 2025: in fact, this season, they have already won the Qatar Ladies Open in Doha, beating Jiang Xinyu and Wu Fang-hsien in the final, the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome (second consecutive title in the capital), defeating Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens, and most importantly Roland Garros, overcoming Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic in the final act.
