After Sassuolo’s home win over Udinese (3-1), Sunday’s Serie A fifth day continued with Roma’s home victory over Verona 2-0 and a white-net draw between Pisa and Fiorentina in the Tuscan derby.

At the Stadio Olimpico, the Giallorossi immediately went ahead with Dovbyk beating Montipò’s header off Celik’s cross from the right. On 28′ Orban ate the equalizer by sending it over the crossbar on an unguarded goal. The Scaligeri came close to equalizing more than once in the second half but Svilar was super and at 79′ Soulé closed the score by taking advantage of an unlucky rebound in the Hellas’Hellas area.

At the Garibaldi Arena Nerazzurri immediately close to the lead with Nzola but his header is printed on the crossbar, then Kean grazes the post with a diagonal cross. In the second half, the same Kean finds the net twice but in both cases the goal is disallowed for offside. In the 70′ Meister scores a great goal with a left-footed shot from the edge but the referee cancels for a hand touch. In the final another woodwork for the hosts with a Cuadrado shot at the first post.

In the standings, Roma momentarily flies to the top, tied with Napoli. Fiorentina and Verona remain just outside the relegation zone on 3 points, while Pisa are currently second-last with 2.
