Tadej Pogacar relentless: he is world champion again

One man in charge: Tadej Pogacar is world champion again. The Slovenian outfielder repeated his success from a year ago in Zurich by triumphing over the finish line at the Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda in the Road Cycling World Championships.
Pogacar launches the attack on Mount Kigali with 104 kilometers to go and leaves behind Mexican Del Toro, the only one able to keep up with him, with 66 kilometers to go.
The Slovenian closes the race with a resounding 66-kilometer solo breakaway that earns him his second rainbow title.
He has to settle for the silver medal Remco Evenepoel, conditioned by some saddle problems and forced to a bike change, to whom the resounding comeback fails: the Belgian rider closes 1’28 from Pogacar.
On the lowest step of the podium the Irishman Ben Healy, 2’16 away from the Slovenian phenomenon. For Italy, the best was Giulio Ciccone who crossed the finish line in sixth place, ahead of Isaac Del Toro and 6’47 behind the world champion.
