Ends with a bombastic 5-0 in favor of Real Madrid in the historic first home game in the main phase of the Champions League for Kairat Almaty, which in fact resisted the Blancos’ overpowering performance only for a time. A night to remember for Kylian Mbappé, author of as many as three of the five goals for the men in white shirts.

The very long journey from the Spanish capital to the most populous city in Kazakhstan, a transfer of some 6,400 kilometers, had its own weight only in the first 45′, which ended with Real Madrid leading 1-0 thanks to a penalty scored by Mbappé on 25′. In the second half the talk is completely different, with Mbappé unleashed: the double and the trio come thanks to the Frenchman between 52′ and 74′.

In the final two Real goals, with Camavinga at the 83’83’ and Brahim Diaz in full recovery, at 93′. The team from the Spanish capital thus confirms its full points lead after two games: two weeks ago it had won 2-1 against Olympique Marseille, despite being outnumbered by 20′, thanks to two penalties converted again by Mbappé.

The Kairat team is now in the lead.

Kairat, on the other hand, has to reckon with two heavy defeats in its first two matches: last Sept. 18, the Kazakh club had in fact lost 4-1 at home to Sporting, having to be content, at 4-0, to celebrate Edmilson Santos’ historic goal in the 86th minute, the first ever goal in the main phase of the Champions League for the winners of the Kazakh league in 2024.
