Official, San Siro stadium sold to Inter and AC Milan

And’ came in the middle of the night, after 3:00 a.m., the decision of the Milan City Council that approved the resolution on the sale of the San Siro stadium to Inter and Milan.

The document was approved with 24 yes, 20 no and no abstentions. The two clubs will shell out 197 million euros, becoming owners of the entire area.

The Giuseppe Meazza will then be torn down and a new 71,500-seat facility will be built in the area where there are currently parking lots, with the hope of getting everything done in time for the 2032 European Championships.

“When there are different positions confronting each other – explained Deputy Mayor Scavuzzo – this is how dialectic works. We left the space to express ourselves and to make a decision, and the majority of this courtroom has expressed itself. Now starts a non-trivial administrative practice – concludes Scavuzzo – and it is up to the teams to do a part that until now they have done too little”.
