Toto Wolff, team principal of Mercedes, did not mince words on the future of Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who in recent weeks has been accosted to two teams: l’Alpine, which for now has only confirmed Pierre Gasly and Williams in a hypothetical exchange with Carlos Sainz.

In an interview with Sky Sport F1, the Austrian manager flatly denied the rumors about the future of the Italian driver who will remain at the wheel of the Mercedese even next season: “The Alpine and Williams hypotheses totally meaningless, he will stay here in 2026 100%”.

After a brilliant start to the season with fourth place in the Grand Prix d’Australia and the historic first career podium scored in Montreal, Antonelli experienced difficult weekends with two consecutive retirements at the Red Bull Ring and Silverstone and a 16th place in the GP d’Holland.

The Bolognese rookie gave some signs of recovery in the Italian Grand Prix d’Italy before taking an excellent fourth place in Baku. Kimi hopes to continue in this vein in the Singapore Grand Prix, scheduled for the weekend at the Marina Bay circuit.
