Roma, Gian Piero Gasperini’s all-out ambitions

These are the words of Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini on the eve of the challenge with Lille in the Europa League.

“Lille is a very good team, dynamic and organized, playing in an offensive way. It had a start of the championship with unfavorable results but with good performances, we will have to be very careful because we meet a team of very good level.

“Cup or championship? You should never discard anything. The championship is fundamental, Europe as well and so will be the Italian Cup. We have 3 competitions and we have to face them all with the’goal of going as far as possible”.

“Ferguson is young, he did very well two years and last year he ran into a difficult season. The attempt on him is to bring him back to what were hopes, a guy who is applying himself.”

“He and Dovbyk are alternating in the role and it’s important for both of them to have growth athletically and physically and then everything else. Today we always play every 3 days and this has to become the norm and not something exceptional.”

The’only problem with playing with this frequency may be injuries Fatigue may have been on the motivation, it is not easy to come out of games like the derby that take away so much energy. The problem is to be able each time to think about the next game, to evaluate well the’opponent like Verona that proved to be very difficult”.
