Simone Anzani leaves'Italvolley as world champion: message to fans

Just a few days after the resounding encore at the World Championships won with the Italian national team, Simone Anzani announced with a message entrusted to his own social channels his farewell to’Italvolley. Born in 1992, Anzani won with the national team not only two rainbow tournaments, but also the 2021 European Championships, in a career that has seen him wear the Azzurri jersey 211 times.

“I want to thank each and every one of you – wrote Anzani -You know that my biggest goal was to participate in the Olympics and now, after this World Cup, the time has come for me to stop with this jersey, because I owe it to my family and all the people who have sacrificed for me. I owe it to my little girls, who so many times have been without their daddy”.

“With the national team I have experienced many joys, but also sorrows after some defeats. I want to thank all of you, the coach, all the staff, the president and the whole Federation, who have always been there for me” then concluded the central player under contract with Modena, who in addition to his successes with l’Italvolley also boasts three Scudetti, as many Italian Cups, two Super Cups, a Challenge Cup and a World Club Championship.

Anzani had already addressed a message to his fans in the hours after winning the World Championship: “This success is dedicated to all the people who in these two difficult and complicated years have been close to me – his words on social -.
