When Jasmine Paolini plays in Beijing: background with Amanda Anisimova

After a two-set victory over Marie Bouzkova (6-2 7-5), Jasmine Paolini is ready to return to the court for the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Beijing. The Tuscan, No. 6 in the seedings and No. 8 in the WTA rankings, will take on Amanda Anisimova, No. 3 in the seedings and No. 4 in the world.

The match between the Blue and the American is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 2, no earlier than 12 noon Italian time (6 p.m. local time) on the ‘Capital Ground Diamond’ of the ‘Beijing Olympic Green Tennis Center’. Not before 9 a.m. (3 p.m. local) will Coco Gauff’s turn, opposing Eva Lys.

There is only one precedent between Paolini and Anisimova and it smiles on the American, who defeated the Tuscan in two sets (6-2 6-1) in the first round of the WTA 125 Parma 2021, played on clay.

“Against Anisimova it will be a very tough match, she is playing very well” said the world number 8 after her quarterfinal success against Bouzkova.
