With Dayot Upamecano close to saying goodbye, Bayern Munich appears to have identified the ideal replacement for the French defender.
Borussia Dortmund center back Nico Schlotterbeck is in the Bavarian club’s sights for next summer. The defender, 25, is under contract until 2027 but is at a crucial moment in his career. Although there was talk of a renewal with Dortmund, Bayern’s interest seems to have just drastically changed the scenario.
Schlotterbeck grew up in the youth sectors of Aalen and Karlsruhe, then in 2017 he was bought by Freiburg, with whom he made his first-team debut on March 9, 2019, in the Bundesliga game won 2-1 against Hertha Berlin.
On May 2, 2022, the Waiblingen native signed a five-year contract with Borussia Dortmund.
