Mario Balotelli and the Cagliari option: Fabio Pisacane speaks out

Cagliari soccer market: Mario Balotelli back in Serie A and in a red and blue shirt, but that of the island team, is a market solution that Fabio Pisacane does not really want to consider, at least for the moment. With Andrea Belotti injured and long unavailable due to the’cruciate ACL surgery, the Sardinians’ coach prefers to focus on the men at his disposal, postponing any further hypothesis of future signings to the club’s executives.
“Forward we have a wide choice, if I think also of Luvumbo who can act as a false nine. It depends on the team we face and the player we want to choose – said Pisacane -. In that role many can play, I see in Cagliari’s roster a wide choice. In fact, I also feel in difficulty because there are so many who are training well”.
For now, no comment on the’possibility of returning to the free market to take Belotti’s place. “I have a hard time answering, also out of respect for Andrea– said Pisacane -. Thinking now about what could be done in the January market seems disrespectful to the boy. And even on the’idea of signing Balotelli, I wouldn’t dwell too much on what you hear or read around. If anything, it is a question to ask director Angelozzi”.
Reduced from his unfortunate spell at Genoa, marked by only 6 league appearances between October 2024 and the end of last season, Balotelli has not scored a goal in Serie A since the 2019-2020 season, when he wore the Brescia jersey in another largely disappointing championship. Since then, he has played for Monza in Serie B, Swiss side Sion and Turkey’s Adana Demirspor in two separate spells.
