Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team

The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia ended with a new double Top10 for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, which took to the track on Sunday with the special livery dedicated to Indonesia. Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio crossed the finish line in eighth and ninth position respectively.

“It was a very tough weekend, we struggled all the time with not ideal sensations – told Morbidelli -. But I am satisfied with the positions we obtained yesterday and today, because we completed both races also winning points. Despite the difficulties, we managed to win two Top10s and that is positive. The team once again worked in the best way. At the beginning of the race I took a big risk at Turn 13 and I am glad I stayed upright. However, this made me lose time, at the end of the race I was faster than the group where I was, but it was difficult to overtake. I want to thank the Indonesian fans who came here to cheer us on, they have so much passion and it is nice to see how they live the races”.

“It was a tough race – the words of Di Giannantonio -We have a good bike, but starting behind, the problems with the high temperatures of the front tire are amplified. I had to ride in a way that was not natural for me, but we are working to improve even in these critical conditions. Obviously, we start the weekend always aiming for the best and we will analyze why we did not perform as we wanted. We have learned something else for the next races and will work to get back to the top in Australia. I thank Indonesia so much for welcoming us this week as if we were at home, they have been special days”.

Starting from the fifth row, Morbidelli immediately entered the fight for the top ten positions, showing good pace especially in the final laps. Franco gained several positions during the 27 laps and ended the race at Mandalika in eighth position. He is now sixth in the overall standings with 207 points.

Di Giannantonio started from the fourth row and entered the group aspiring for the Top10. Despite a difficult race due to high temperatures, Fabio managed to take ninth position. The #49 is seventh in the championship with 191 points.
