Jannik Sinner remained silent after his bitter forfeit at the Shanghai Masters 1000 during his match against Tallon Griekspoor. The South Tyrolean tennis player, a fresh winner in Beijing, suffered severely from the stifling climate of the Chinese megalopolis and had to raise the white flag due to cramps in the third set of the match against the Dutchman.

Sinner and his staff made no statements: the world number two preferred to focus on his recovery, which he hopes will be quick in view of upcoming, upcoming engagements.

Lorenzo Musetti, who qualified to the round of 16 in the Chinese tournament, spoke about his compatriot at the press conference and made some revelations: “I did not hear from Sinner after he withdrew due to cramps. I saw Simone Vagnozzi (the coach ed) this morning at breakfast and he did not seem worried at all. He told me that Jannik had already started again”.

The South Tyrolean tennis player will rest a few days in Monte Carlo, then resume training in preparation for upcoming tournaments: “We will see him I guess at the Six Kings Slam and then we will meet again at the Vienna 500””

, Musetti explained. Participation in the tournament in Saudi Arabia, already won last year by the San Candido champion and with a $6 million prize for the winner, would not be in jeopardy.
