Camarda goes wild, Italy Under 21 trims five goals against Armenia

Fourth win out of four matches for coach Baldini’s Italy Under 21 team, which bent Armenia 5-1 in the match played at the Zini stadium in Cremona. The Azzurrini came out on top in the second half thanks to goals from Dagasso, Fini, Ekhator and Camarda’s brace: they lead the Group E standings along with Poland, which also has a full score.
The first half ended in white nets: Italy dominated but was very inaccurate in the offensive phase. On 21′ Ndour hits the post after a great header, on 26′ the young Fiorentina midfielder misses a penalty kick that he had earned by being fouled by Bandikyan.
The second half ended in a blank net.
In the second half, the game was unlocked thanks to Dagasso’s goal at 59′: nice shot on a filter ball from Pisilli. Once the ice was broken, spaces opened up and Italy expanded with Camarda, scoring at 62′ after being unleashed in the box by Bartesaghi, and at 72′ on a perfect cross from Dagasso. On 75′ came Fini’s fourth goal, tap-in on Matinyan’s rebound on Pisilli’s earlier shot.
In the finale, a mistake by Palmisani allowed Armenia to score the’1-4 with Vardayan, then Fortini was naively ejected at’85’ for a double yellow card in a few minutes. Ekhator sealed the result at 91′ on an assist from Koleosho and reassured Baldini: Italy won 5-1 and reached Poland, which it will face next on Nov. 14.
