Nick Kyrgios’ professional tennis career could come to an end in a matter of months. It was the Australian himself, speaking during the ‘Unscripted’ podcast, who opened up about the possibility of retiring permanently from competitive tennis, but expressed his desire to once again play his home tournament among the four Grand Slams, the Australian Open.

“I know very well that the end of my career is fast approaching –Kyrgios admitted -, especially because of all the physical problems I have experienced in recent years. However, I would like to be present in Melbourn in January, although I have no certainty about my future. I think my physique has reached a point of no return, but if the body will allow me I will be happy to be on the court”.

Kyrgios, then, once again returned to talk about Jannik Sinner, several times his target in the’last year: “There is no doubt that he is an outstanding player, he and Alcaraz will be at the top of the sport for the next ten years and more – said the Australian -, but I think the ATP protected him in a way, in my opinion there was a lack of transparency in the Clostebol&#8221 affair.

A class of 1995, born in Canberra to a Greek father and a Malaysian mother, Nick Kyrgios currently occupies the number 661 position in the ATP rankings but in his best period he also entered the Top 15. Among his most significant achievements is the final he reached at Wimbledon in 2022, the year in which he won the Australian Open in doubles and participated in the ATP Finals.
