World Cup Qualification 2026: Turkey-Georgia, the likely lineups

In these World Cup qualifiers, Turkey has been on a roller coaster so far: first came the 3-2 success in Georgia, then the heavy 0-6 home win in Spain, then the equally overflowing, but this time in its own favor, 6-1 win on the field of Bulgaria. The men coached by Vincenzo Montella are now looking for an encore against Georgia, to try to keep up with Spain.

Four Turkish players scored in the match against the Bulgarians: after Popov’s own goal came the goals of Juventus player Yildiz, Roma player Celik and Kahveci. In the eleven pitted against the Georgians, the two “Italians” should be confirmed, while the Fenerbahce striker could make his entrance in the second half, replacing Akturkoglu who will start instead.

On the other hand, Georgia must win to still hope for second place, which is worth qualifying for the playoffs at the end of the group stage. The man to watch out for is, as always, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who will certainly want to take personal revenge after the colorless performance against Spain, which saw him give way to Davitashvili (who could start from 1′ this time) after 69 minutes.

The Georgia team must win the game.
