Marc Marquez: Dani Pedrosa warns everyone not to overdo it

Dani Pedrosa spoke about his former teammate Marc Marquez in an interview with DAZN: the Iberian centaur was the first to experience the strength of rider number 93, who won immediately in his first year of MotoGP despite his young age. “I had the same bike as him, but I could not grow to the same level. At that time, I saw a very versatile Marc. I think that’s one of his best qualities. He was a very complete rider, and when he lacked something to be at the level of the others, he was very good at quickly figuring out what he lacked and applying it on the track”.
Pedrosa warned, however, that having Marquez on the team can be a double-edged sword in some respects: “When it comes to developing the bike, he isn’t the best rider, because he can overcome bike problems that other centaurs can’t. This has penalized me a lot, especially when he has been leading the development of Honda“
.
On a personal level, Pedrosa has never had any rifts with Marc: “He has a special charisma. The way he celebrates, the’energy he transmits to the team… you could finish fourth, off the podium, and he wins the race. But then the team wants to join in that celebration, that’positive energy. If that is repeated over many weekends, things become difficult”.
Pedrosa warned, however, not to exaggerate about Marc’s strength: “Would he be fast even on a tractor? Well let’s not exaggerate, the reality is that he had to leave Honda and go to Ducati to win again. If not, he would have stayed in Honda if he was able to win on that bike”.
