The most important chapter of the 2025 edition of the Under-20 World Cup, currently being held in Chile, is about to reach its most important chapter: playing for one of the two spots for the finals will be, at 10 p.m. Italian time on Wednesday, Oct. 15, Morocco and France, who in their respective quarters eliminated the United States 3-1 and Norway 2-1.

Never on the podium in the youth rainbow event (only one fourth-place finish, dating back to 2007), Morocco has led an exemplary World Cup so far, qualifying early for the quarterfinals after beating Spain 2-0 and Brazil 2-1 (a 1-0 loss to Mexico was then irrelevant) and finding successes in the knockout stage against South Korea (2-1) and the United States. Among the most interesting players is Yassir Zabiri, author of three goals in this World Cup.

On the other hand, France aims to win the Cup for the second time, following their 2013 success. In the group stage, the Bleuets beat South Africa (2-1) and New Caldedonia (6-0), managing to be among the best thirds despite a 0-3 loss against the USA. In the round of 16, a Michal penalty at 123′ then eliminated Japan, before the success over the Norwegians in which a brace by substitute Bouabre, class of 2006 on loan from the Saudis of Neom SC, proved decisive. Also on the field was a son of art, Elyaz Zidane, son of Zinedine.
