ATP 250 Stockholm, Lorenzo Sonego in quarterfinals

Lorenzo Sonego, world number 47, defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic of the United States, number 69, in the second round of the ATP 250 in Stockholm, with a score of 7-6 6-1 in one hour and 25 minutes of play, thus entering the quarterfinals.

No break and no break point until 6-5 in favor of Kovacevic, who in the 12th game has a set point, misses it, and so it goes to the tie-break. Sonego flies to 3-1 and then to 5-1 and 6-2, misses a set point but the second, the one that gives him the 7-3 lead, is the good one.

On the momentum Sonego flies to 3-0 with a break in the second set, vice versa Kovasevic goes off after the missed set point in the first. Lorenzo makes another break that gives him a 5-1 lead and then closes the match by holding serve at 15. In the quarterfinals Sonego will face the winner between France’s Ugo Humbert and Matteo Berrettini.
