Romelu Lukaku burns up the stops, return with Napoli is closer

Romelu Lukaku is continuing his recovery path between the pool and the gym, aiming to return as soon as possible. According to reports from the Gazzetta dello Sport, he is expected to return to Italy by mid-November. Once in Castel Volturno, Napoli’s headquarters, Lukaku will take stock with the Azzurri medical staff to define the final phase of rehabilitation and follow a timetable aimed at returning to the group. No rush, no unnecessary risk: but “Big Rom” would already have circled a date on the calendar, that of December 18, 2025.
That day, in fact, Napoli will face Allegri’s AC Milan in the Italian Super Cup semifinal (exclusively on Mediaset), and Lukaku dreams of returning on that very occasion, in a challenge that has often seen him as a protagonist. His record against the Rossoneri speaks for itself: 14 appearances, 11 wins, 7 goals and 2 assists. From the bureaucratic point of view, there would be no obstacle: Napoli can put him back on the roster at any time, being able to replace up to two players in the 25 rostered players during the season.
In the meantime, from Belgium, Lukaku is closely following the Azzurri’s progress and the performance of Rasmus Hojlund, who with his goals is making up for the number 9’s absence as best he can. Antonio Conte is looking forward to re-embracing his star striker: with Lukaku and Hojlund together, the coach will be able to count on two heavy weapons to face the most delicate moments of the season.
