Lorenzo Sonego rematched and defeated in Stockholm

Lorenzo Sonego’s adventure at the Stockholm ATP 250 stopped in the quarterfinals. The Turinese, world number 47, surrendered in three sets to Ugo Humbert, number 4 in the seeding and 25 in the ATP ranking, who won with a final score of 6-7 6-0 6-3 after two hours and three quarters of play.
In the first set, l’Azzurro did not exploit as many as five break points and was forced to save a set-point in the twelfth game.
It thus came down to the tie-break where Sonego, down 3-2, put the arrow and won five points in a row, winning the first partial.
Arabid reaction from the Frenchman in the second partial in which he does not leave a single game to the Piedmontese. In the third and decisive set, the balance held until 3-3: in the fateful seventh game Humbert got the break that launched him to victory (6-3).
The Frenchman’s break was not even a break.
After Matteo Berrettini, defeated by Humbert himself, the ‘BNP Paribas Nordic Open’ also loses the ’last remaining Azzurro on the scoreboard. The Frenchman, however, advances to the semifinals where he will take on one of Holger Rune or Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
