Max Verstappen’s dominance continues in Austin: his pole position at the US GP

Max Verstappen continues to dominate the weekend at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin by taking pole position for the U.S. Grand Prix by 291 thousandths ahead of Lando Norris’ McLaren and 297 ahead of Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari.
After a few minutes of Q1 there is already a red flag because Isack Hadjar goes to the wall. Along with him, Gabriel Bortoleto in the Sauber, Esteban Ocon in the Haas, Lance Stroll in the Aston Martin and Alexander Albon in the Williams are also eliminated.
In Q2, Nico Hulkenberg with the Sauber, Liam Lawson with the Racing Bulls, Yuki Tsunoda with the Red Bull and finally Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto with the two Alpine cars remain out.
Verstappen in Q3 gets the good lap right on the first attempt, then the second one he doesn’t make because he comes out of the pits late and takes the checkered flag, but the masterpiece lap he made earned him pole number 47 of the zipper, his seventh of the season.
With him on the front row will start Norris, while Leclerc, spinning before everyone else on his last attempt after a sensational spin that compromised his first fast lap, grabbed the second row. Next to him was George Russell.
Well also Lewis Hamilton, fifth in the second Ferrari ahead of an Oscar Piastri who is getting a dangerous “chinwag,” as they would say in tennis.
Closing the top ten are, in order, Kimi Antonelli in the Mercedes, a very good Oliver Bearman in the Haas, Carlos Sainz in the Williams and Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin.
