Bologna, Vincenzo Italiano hospitalized

Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano was hospitalized yesterday, as a note published on the club’s official website writes, “at Policlinico Sant’Orsola-Malpighi in the pneumology department (headed by Prof. Stefano Nava).”
The cause is “a pneumonia with probable bacterial etiology (not due to Covid) for which specific antibiotic therapy had to be undertaken.”
“The coach will stay about five days in inpatient care. Currently the clinical situation is slowly improving, updates will follow in the coming days,” the note continues, concluding with best wishes to the technician.
Vincenzo Italiano, 48 years old next Dec. 10, is at Bologna for the second season after three years with Fiorentina; before that he coached Spezia for two seasons, taking it to Serie A at the end of the first. With the Rossoblù he won the last Coppa Italia.
