Juventus has set its sights on Lautaro Rivero, a promising central defender from River Plate, as part of its strategy to strengthen the backline.

The Bianconeri club, in search of new, young and reliable profiles for the back ward, has accelerated contacts after excellent reports received from international scouting. Rivero, 22 years old to be turned on November 1, recently made his debut with the Albiceleste national team.
A rising defensive talent

Born in Moreno, Buenos Aires province, Lautaro Rivero has built a solid track record. Raised in the youth sector of River Plate, he found space and continuity at Central Córdoba in Santiago del Estero, where he became a regular starter and won the Argentine Cup 2024.
Gallardo believes in him

His performances in the Copa Libertadores, and particularly in the historic win against Flamengo at the Maracanã, caught the attention of Marcelo Gallardo, who brought him back to River. Since that time, Rivero has become a staple in the millennial defense, imposing himself for maturity, reading of the game, and ability to set up from the bottom.
Juventus in the running for Argentine defender
Juventus sees Rivero as the ideal profile to strengthen the defensive line for the future. The Bianconeri management has been monitoring the player for a long time and has reportedly already initiated the first exploratory contacts with his entourage.
The obstacles are not lacking
As expected, however, there is no shortage of obstacles. Clubs of the caliber of Real Madrid, Manchester City and Tottenham have shown interest in Rivero, whose price tag is protected by a hefty rescission clause.
