Mission accomplished for Alexander Zverev. The German earned a place in the final of the ATP 500 in Vienna, overcoming Lorenzo Musetti with a score of 6-4 7-5. A solid match by the world number 3, who built the victory thanks to an impeccable serve: no break ball conceded to the Tuscan and great lucidity in key moments.

Awaiting him in the final will be Jannik Sinner, victorious in the first semifinal against Alex de Minaur 6-3 6-4. It will be the first confrontation between Zverev and Sinner since the Australian Open final, where the German had to yield to the talented South Tyrolean.

“I haven’t played against Jannik in a while, and I think it’s mostly my fault: he has reached the final stage in almost every tournament, but I haven’t. It will be a great challenge. I’m looking forward to facing one of the best players in the world, an important test to see where my level is at,” Zverev said.

So it promises to be a challenge of the highest level, with Sinner determined to confirm his supremacy over the German and Zverev determined to turn the tide and strengthen his candidacy as the main rival of the Sinner-Alcaraz pair in the race to the top of world tennis.
