In a day of important news in the Bianconeri household, Juventus FC officially announced the dismissal of Igor Tudor from the post of coach of the men’s first team, along with his staff composed of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci. At the same time, the club announced that the team’s technical leadership will be temporarily entrusted to Massimo Brambilla, who will sit on the bench as early as Wednesday night for the Juventus-Udinese match.

Massimo Brambilla is a well-known name in the Italian soccer scene, especially for his coaching career in the youth sector and a long career as a professional soccer player. Born in Vaprio d’Adda on March 4, 1973, Brambilla was a midfielder of tactical intelligence and great vision of the game, qualities he later brought with him to his adventure on the bench.

Grew up in Atalanta’s youth sector, Brambilla made his Serie A debut with Dea in the early 1990s. Over the course of his career, he has worn the shirts of several clubs between Serie A and Serie B, including Torino, Parma, Siena, Cagliari and Mantova, collecting over 400 professional appearances. He has never been a midfielder with striking numbers under goal, but he has always been a point of balance in the teams in which he has played, thanks to his tactical intelligence and ability to read game situations.

At the end of his career as a player, Brambilla embarked on the path of a coach, immediately distinguishing himself for his preparation and attention to the growth of young talent. After his early experiences in the youth ranks of Atalanta, where he achieved excellent results – including winning two consecutive Primavera Championships (2018-2019 and 2019-2020) – in 2022 he was chosen by Juventus to lead the Juventus Next Gen, the Bianconeri’s second team playing in Serie C.

With the Next Gen, Brambilla has continued his path of developing young people, demonstrating his ability to combine play, discipline and attention to the individual development of players.

Juventus’s decision to temporarily entrust him with the First Team bench represents a recognition of the trust in him and the work he has done over the years with Next Gen. He will therefore lead the Bianconeri in the match against Udinese, while waiting for the club to define the next moves for the future coach.

Massimo Brambilla is considered a prepared, pragmatic coach with a very methodical approach. He has a clear philosophy of play based on ball possession, organization and collective growth. Qualities that he will now be called upon to put into practice on a bigger stage, although – for the moment – only on a temporary basis.

His debut on the Juventus bench will represent not only a personal challenge, but also a great opportunity to demonstrate the value of the work done in the youth sectors and in the training of future champions.
