La Liga 2025-2026: Getafe-Girona, the likely lineups.
Reduced from a decidedly easy round of the Copa del Rey against Inter de Valdemoro, as evidenced by the 11-0 scoreline at the final whistle, Getafe is looking to capitalize on the momentum in the league as well, in Friday night’s match against a Girona side that in turn is coming off a Cup round passage (a much more laborious penalty shootout win against Constancia) and wants to dislodge itself from the last place in the standings.
The host Azulones, led by José Bordalás, will be able to count on the enthusiasm of Juanmi, author of four goals in the Cup, and the concreteness of Borja Mayoral, decisive in last Saturday’s La Liga success at home to Athletic Bilbao. The solid five-man defense will see Femenia and Rico on the flanks, Iglesias, Duarte and Djene filling the central positions.
On the other hand, the red and whites want to raise their heads again after a complicated and even unlucky moment, as shown by the comeback against Real Oviedo frustrated by the goal conceded by the Asturians in 97′ for the 3-3 final. Monument Stuani will still be one of the two references of the’attack along with Vanat, while in midfield the geometries are in the hands of Martin and Witsel.
