Neven Spahija does not hide a difficulty of his Reyer Venezia

Reduced from the victorious 104-92 win in Poland against Slask Wroclaw in the Eurocup, Reyer Venezia returns to the championship, where it faces Pallacanestro Varese at Taliercio on Sunday with the goal of putting last Sunday’s knockout at home of Olimpia Milano behind them for good. Introducing the match, Neven Spahija said he was aware of his team’s difficulties, emphasizing one in particular.
“Before talking about Varese, I would like to congratulate my players – he said. They were able to react well after the loss against Milan, where we had played well up to a certain point and then lost everything in two minutes. This is an ‘illness’ that we have been carrying around since the’beginning of the year: we still have a lot of gaps to fill because there’s too much difference between the times when we play very well and the times when we play badly”.
“we have to solve this discontinuity and I am sure we will, because this team is growing from game to game – added Spahija -. Varese is a team that runs a lot and shoots a lot, with a type of game very different from all the other formations in Italy. We will have to be very prepared, but above all concentrated to take away their best weapons and, at the same time, impose our basketball”.
“With the game against Varese, we start a real marathon – commented the Croatian coach again -. Neither have I, in my career in Europe, ever faced the experience of playing four games in seven days. We come to this match after a week in which we have met top-level opponents, and the numerous trips have been an additional opponent”.
