Consecutive trio for Numia Vero Volleyball Milan

The positive streak continues for Numia Vero Volley Milano, which in its season opener at the Allianz Cloud wins in an hour and a half of play over Wash4green Monviso Volley. In front of the 3731 of the Milanese palasport came the third consecutive success for Egonu and her teammates who, once again, got the better of the match with a score of 3-0 (25-22; 25-19; 25-18) thus winning the entire stake. Sprint start at the beginning of the first set for coach Lavarini’s girls, who, however, suffered the comeback of their opponents, who were able to reduce the gap and lengthen the set. They had an easier time instead in the next two partials the rosablu who, thanks to the excellent contribution of all the subentries from the bench, were able to put an end to the match. Top scorer of this seventh day of the Regular Season was captain Egonu, scoring 19 points and positive in all the fundamentals. Also in double figures for Numia was Anna Danesi, awarded MVP thanks to the 12 points (1 ace and 2 walls) she put down, the result of her newfound understanding with Bosio. Wash4green was not satisfied with the 14 points of former Malual, best among the Piedmontese ranks. Big-match on the horizon for Coach Lavarini’s lineup, which will be on stage at Pala Verde in Villorba on Wednesday, Nov. 5, for a challenge with Prosecco Doc A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano in the recovery of the fourth day of the first half of the season.
THE MATCH
The sextet that took the court in the last match in Perugia is confirmed with Bosio-Egonu diagonal, Pietrini and Lanier setters and the blue Danesi-Sartori at center. Fersino libero. Coach Marchiaro responds with Malual opposite and Battistoni in the control booth, in place four the former Davyskiba supported by teammate Siftar. The center pair consists of Akrari and Sylves; libero Scialanca.
First SET
Fighting at the start of the first set with Sartori’s excellent service turn – an ace for her – and captain Egonu’s attack that are worth the 9-6 Milano. Bosio is also effective from nine meters and the good work in attack and wall allow the hosts to find the ’stretch (12-7) that forces the host bench to the’ break. Numia’s run proceeds apace with the meneghine positive in all fundamentals; Monviso, on the other hand, is too foul and on 16-8 for Milan coach Marchairo spends the second time-out. Wash4green tries to reduce the gap: 19-15 and suspension for the rosablu who, upon returning to the court, suffer the play of the Piedmontese who find -1 (19-18). Point to point in the final but it is Vero Volleyball that earns the set, with Egonu’s monster block that closes 25-22.
SECOND SET
The’beginning of the second partial is a photocopy of the first with the two formations staying in contact until 9-9 when it is Monviso that finds the ball change that is worth +2. Numia Vero Volley promptly sews up the disadvantage, with Bosio’s mural making it 13-11 that leads the opposing bench to call for suspension. Malual’s serve bothered the Milanese second line, which inserted Cagnin on Pietrini. Egonu and her teammates stretch to 18-14 and it’s second break for Wah4green. A super Danesi –s first time put down and an ace – brings her up 22-17. Captain Egonu’s effective serve gives her six set balls, with Numia taking the fraction 25-19 on the second chance.
THIRD SET
Cagnin confirmed on Pietrini, with the No. 15 setter putting down the first point of the partial. Numia Vero Volleyball enters the court with a different approach, immediately pressing on the accelerator and flying on 5-2; the Piedmontese respond and hook the hosts, who insert Piva on Lanier. Milan re-enters the game and puts a margin on the Gialloblu, who are forced to chase. At the halftime mark the meneghine are still ahead (15-12) but Monviso with Malual and Davyskiba tries to stay in their wake. The rosablu’s run toward the end of the set and the match continued smoothly, with Sartori’s positive streak on serve interrupted at 19-14 by Sylves’ first half. An’effective Piva from place four and Danesi from place three bring Milan the match ball: to close it is Cagnin who with a mani-out registers the 25-18 that is worth the three points.
Post-match statement
Emma Cagnin, Numia Vero Volleyball Milano setter: “We only had one moment of decline, in the first set, where we let them catch up to us after creating a little bit of a gap, but we were very good at recovering and staying on the ball. The whole team played, everyone contributed and gave everything they could give. These are three super important points for us, especially because now the standings are starting to take shape, so we have to gather everything we can to get the best possible placement”.
