Sports Minister Andrea Abodi makes a promise to Jannik Sinner

Intervening during the awarding of the Golden Collars, Sports Minister Andrea Abodi also spoke about Jannik Sinner: “He had said he would probably lose the first place but added that he would regain it”.
“It’s an adventure that will go on for the next ten years because his rival certainly won’t stand idly by either. We, as it has always been, will be with him through thick and thin. This is how it works in sports, you don”t stay close only when you win” promised Abodi.
The Collar d’Oro al Merito Sportivo can be granted to Italian athletes, who achieve the results or titles established by specific resolution of the CONI National Council; to sports managers, and in the limit of 5 for each year, who are already in possession of the ‘Stella d’ Oro al Merito Sportivo’ and who have for more than forty years honored Italian sports; to sports clubs, again within the limit of 5 for each year, which have a seniority of at least one hundred years of establishment and are in activity at the time of the proposal to grant the honor, which have already been awarded the “Stella d’Oro al Merito Sportivo” and whose athletes have achieved titles in the international and national fields.
Since the establishment of the Golden Collar in 1995 and until the year 2013, athletes who confirmed their Olympic or rainbow titles were not awarded this honor again, but were awarded the Diploma of Honor.
