Cantù, Nicola Brienza don’t trust Dinamo Sassari

Reduced by Sunday’s success against Vanoli Cremona, Cantù prepares for an away trip to Sassari, to face Dinamo on Thursday, Nov. 6 (8:30 p.m. double ball at PalaSerradimigni). The island team, newly entrusted to Veljko Mursic, is coming off five losses in as many league games, a roster that cost Massimo Bulleri the bench.
Nicola Brienza, Cantù coach, does not at all want to underestimate the challenge against a team that is certainly wounded in its pride: “Sassari is a team in a crisis of results in the league, but not of performance – he said -. It has been able to play good games, for example in Cremona and against Milan, to which it lost only in the last minutes”.
“Obviously there were aspects that did not go as expected, but in the cup some good victories came – added Brienza talking about his next opponents -. After the change in the bench, I expect a team empowered: the players will want to give a signal. In these situations you have to expect a pride reaction from the team and the club. We will have to put great care on the field for 40 minutes”.
“In the two away games we have played so far, we have not been competitive for large stretches, so it becomes essential to put in a solid performance, aware of the strides we have made. It is the first midweek shift and it will be a complicated week, with three important and close commitments in which we will have to think one step at a time. The first was the victory with Cremona, which gave us charge and serenity. However, we must not let our guard down, because on the road we have not yet demonstrated our value and we are keen to do so. Getting a result would be very important for the ranking” concluded the Brianza head coach.
