Cristiano Ronaldo: "I will retire soon. The numbers don’t lie, I’m at the top of soccer"

Cristiano Ronaldo confessed that his retirement is getting closer in an interview with Piers Morgan: “Retirement will come soon. But I think I will be ready. It will be hard, of course. It will be hard, yes. I will probably cry, yes… It will be very, very difficult, but I have been preparing my future since I was 25, 26, 27 years old. So I think I will be able to take this pressure”.
.
“Nothing can compare to the adrenaline rush you have to score a goal. It will disappear, but everything has a beginning and an end. I think I will be prepared, but I have other passions. I will have more time for me, my family and Bella, who is three years old”.
On his position in soccer history, Ronaldo, always on the hunt for his 1,000th career goal, has no doubts: “Do I dream of the World Cup? It’s not a dream, it doesn’t define me as a player, to win a competition for 6 or 7 games and become one of the best in history? Do you think that’s fair? The numbers don’t lie. If you look at soccer records, Cristiano is at the top of the list. I know my potential. I knew I would reach these numbers”.
.
On the comparison with Messi: “Is Leo better than me? I don’t agree with that opinion. I do not want to be humble”.
