Who is Daniele Galloppa, Stefano Pioli’s interim replacement as Fiorentina coach

After Stefano Pioli’s exoneration, Fiorentina has chosen to temporarily entrust the first-team technical guidance to Daniele Galloppa, who will sit on the bench as early as Thursday night in the away match with Conference League side Mainz.
Born in Rome on May 15, 1985, Galloppa has made a name for himself as a tidy and tactically intelligent director. After his first professional experiences with Triestina and l’Ascoli, he established himself in the top flight with Siena.
The real breakthrough came with Parma, where he became one of the cornerstones of the Emilian midfield and also earned a call-up to the national team in 2009 under Marcello Lippi.
His playing career, unfortunately, was marked by three serious ligament injuries, which limited his continuity. But the tenacity with which he always returned to the field made him an example of professionalism and passion.
Hanging up his boots, Galloppa embarked on a coaching career starting at Santarcangelo in Serie D before leading Vis Pesaro’U-17 and Fiorentina until 2023 when he was promoted to Primavera coach in place of Alberto Aquilani.
