A.C. Milan is preparing for the Parma trip with the goal of staying hooked on the top positions in the standings and continuing the race to the top. But the challenge at the Tardini, scheduled for Saturday night, will also have market interest: among the Rossoneri management’s special observers will be Mateo Pellegrino, Parma’s 2001-class forward, who could soon become a concrete target for January.

According to reports from ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, the Argentine center forward is in fact among the candidates to become Milan’s new number 9, especially considering the great difficulties encountered so far by Santiago Gimenez. Born in Spain but a full-fledged Argentine, Pellegrino is the son of art – his father Mauricio was a defender for Barcelona, Liverpool and Valencia – and he made his professional debut with Vélez, then moving on to Estudiantes and Platense before landing in Italy.

He arrived at Parma last February for about 2 million euros plus a percentage on future resale, and has netted 8 goals in 25 appearances, demonstrating personality, goal sense and considerable room for growth. On Saturday he will be an opponent, but from January he could turn into a hot name for the Rossoneri’s future.

In the meantime, the Diavolo also continues to closely monitor other interesting profiles to reinforce the attack. These include Joaquín Panichelli, 23, currently at Strasbourg, German Jonathan Burkardt, 25, of Eintracht Frankfurt, and Ukrainian Artem Dovbyk, 28, now with Roma.
