A new addition to Rino Gattuso's Italy squad.

There are 27 Azzurri call-ups for the matches with Moldova and Norway, the last two engagements in the 2026 World Cup qualifying round.
Chief coach Rino Gattuso has called up Elia Caprile, Cagliari goalkeeper, class of 2001, for the first time. Alessandro Buongiorno and Samuele Ricci, absent since March 2025 and last June, respectively, will return to the Azzurri shirt.
Gianluca Scamacca, already called up by Gattuso in September but forced to leave the gathering before the match in Bergamo with Estonia not having fully recovered from the resentment with which he presented himself in Coverciano, also returns to the squad.
Nicolò Barella, who was cautioned last Oct. 14 in the challenge with Israel, will miss the match with Moldova due to disqualification. Three Azzurri are on caution: Andrea Cambiaso, Davide Frattesi and Sandro Tonali.
