Lorenzo Musetti believes. Success over Sebastian Korda which is worth the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Athens still leaves the Tuscan with a chance to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin. The’last hurdle is anything but trivial, however, as there will now be to beat none other than Novak Djokovic (who currently boasts an 8-1 mark in their direct clashes). And the Blue knows it won&#8217t be easy.

“The match against Korda was a real roller coaster of emotions – Musetti admitted to the ATP microphones’I think we both played really really well. This match was fantastic, with the level getting higher and higher as we played. I am really happy with how I was able to fight, with the spirit I showed”.

As mentioned, however, the Athens final represents for Musetti something additional to the still very prestigious challenge to Djokovic. “My main goal is to reach the ATP Finals, that’s clear – reiterated the Carrara-born player. That’s why I will try to be ready for tomorrow, so that I can win this title in Athens. In recent years I have not been particularly lucky when I have had to play finals. However, I hope that history can change”.

“I will play for two goals, to win the title and to qualify for Turin. In the meantime, however, here in Athens I will play against a legend like Djokovic and I cannot wait to face him”, concluded Musetti. Whose third goal, if you will, is to beat an opponent who throughout his career has almost always been a full-blown black beast.
