Olimpia Milan feat with Anadolu Efes, Ettore Messina: "Big heart"

Empire of Olimpia Milano in the Euroleague: in Istanbul the Anadolu Efes falls after two overtimes, with the final score of 93-97. A victory that exalted Ettore Messina, who at the end of the game spared no compliments to his players capable of righting the fate of a game in which the Turks had recovered twice from an important gap built by the meneghini.

“I think it was a wonderful game to watch for the fans of both teams – noted Messina. Obviously the final success could have gone to us as well as to them, but we played with incredible heart. And incredible was also our desire to win it. This is really a very important aspect for us”.

Messina also analyzed his Olimpia Milano’s performance in the game: “By the middle of the fourth period we had built a good lead. In the end, however, we had little patience and forced a few shots. This allowed them to reopen the game on the counterattack. But in both overtimes we were good at making the right decisions by going to the right players”.

“Maybe in the first half we were not able to create the spaces that would allow our guards to attack the best. Usually we move well with the ball to create triples, but first you have to create the space for the guards to go inside. Today they did a great job with our two centers, but they were great at finding the right offloads in the corner” concluded Messina.
