The Saturday afternoon Serie A matches between Como and Cagliari and between Lecce and Hellas Verona end without winners and without goals.

The Larians stumble into their fifth draw in the last seven games: Cesc Fabregas’ team dominated the match against Cagliari but failed to capitalize on the chances created.

In the first half Como had several chances, which mainly happened to be on the feet of Alvaro Morata, however, they failed to pierce the careful Sardinian defense. Fabio Pisacane&#8217s team defended well and also attempted a few restarts: it scored with Valle&#8217s own goal but the referee cancelled after VAR review for a foul intervention of the Como player on Palestra. In the second half, the hosts had other chances to score but Caprile and the Larian attackers&#8217 inaccuracy prevented them from budging the result.

Good performance for Eusebio Di Francesco’s Lecce, which, however, failed to bring home the three points against Hellas Verona. Montipò did very well to save the Scaligeri, who with just over ten minutes to go took a huge risk on the penalty awarded by Abisso (Bella-Kotchap foul on the newly-entered Camarda) and then revoked after the VAR consultation.

In the first 45 minutes the hosts would certainly have deserved the lead, then in the second half the guests approached better. Around minute 30 of the second half the pace of play dropped considerably, and the last 15 minutes were played virtually evenly.
