Good start for Carlos Alcaraz at the ATP Finals in Turin: the Spanish tennis player overcame Australian Alex De Minaur in two sets in the first round match. The Murcia champion, who now only needs two wins to take back the world number one and hold it until the end of the year, won in two sets with scores of 7-6, 6-2.

In the first partial, the Spanish outfielder did not particularly shine; Alcaraz let himself recover from 4-1 down to 4-4 and managed to impose himself only at the tie-break. In the second set, on the other hand, Jannik Sinner’s archrival played looser, less nervous, imposing 6-2 with a double break advantage.

In the coming days Alcaraz will face the other two opponents in the round, Taylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti. “I am happy with the way I played, it is not easy to play against someone like De Minaur, now I think about the next match”, said the Iberian at the end of the match.
