Jannik Sinner, who at the ATP Finals could put the exclamation point on his season, has already lost at least 2 million euros. The reason still has to do with his suspension from last Feb. 9 to May 4, which forced him to miss several Masters 1000 tournaments. And, as rest known by the ATP, this will prevent the South Tyrolean from taking advantage of the end-of-season Bonus Pool.

The issue is very clear and is related to a purely bureaucratic aspect. To access the bonuses bestowed by the ATP, it is necessary to participate in all the mandatory Masters 1000 tournaments, as well as the Finals. However, Sinner missed three, all of which were held in the three months of his suspension: Indian Wells, Miami and Madrid. In addition, he did not take part in the Toronto trip, due to a calendar choice.

All these absences will prevent him from reaching the top two places in the Bonus Pool, whose total prizes amount to as much as 18 million euros. Although over the course of the season Sinner has accumulated an impressive 2350 points in the ATP rankings, second only to Carlos Alcaraz’s 3420, participation in fewer Masters 1000s than necessary puts him further behind in this particular ranking.

Sinner can, however, largely console himself. The prizes accumulated over the course of a 2025 that was nonetheless full of victories earned him about $14 million. One must also not forget the success in Riyadh, which from a competitive point of view represented a mere performance but earned an impressive $6 million. And participation in the ATP Finals could also file this already very important figure upward, although the 5.4 million in the ATP Bonus Pool is no longer attainable.
