Napoli coach Antonio Conte spoke harshly to DAZN after the Azzurri’s defeat in Bologna: “They had more energy in everything, what we are sorry to see is this: they had more desire and more enthusiasm. This is something that should make us reflect, we had already done it together with the boys. They also played on Thursday, we did the little task as long as the game was balanced, then we loosened up”.

“This is sorry. There has to be a different’energy. Hojlund? I didn&#8217t dislike him, maybe he was the best player on the field. Lucumi struggled a lot. We had prepared some things, he had to be supported more, but we missed. I repeat, he played a good game”.

Napoli has already lost three times in the league: “I am worried, there&#8217s little to say. If a team that is labeled as an absolute protagonist loses five games between the league and cups it means that there&#8217s something that is not going right. Something has to be done, because I have no desire to accompany a dead man. I am the first possibly to take responsibility. We should not forget that after a championship we won we finished tenth: it was not a great lesson”.

“So many times we think that overnight the ugly duckling becomes a swan, last year we did something absolutely valuable and extraordinary. We are continuing to work, but we have to ask ourselves how: whether we are doing it with the right enthusiasm and desire for revenge. Certainly the energy has changed. The kids know very well how I feel about it; I am sorry I can&#8217t change that energy. I’m not doing a good job or someone doesn’t want to hear”.
