Michele Lamaro left a long interview with the official channels of Benetton Rugby: “The first part of the season has been a bit of an up and down. We had very good performances, I think of those against Glasgow and Lions, instead there are things we have to work on in light of our matches played away from home. I am referring to the match against Edinburgh, that is an approach we cannot afford. The last game against the Stormers was approached in the right way, against a great team. We could not keep what was the score created in the first half. I am convinced that we have a lot of room for improvement that we can develop over the course of the season. It&#8217s a start to the season that fits us, although we could have done something more”.

The Treviso captain is recovering from an injury: “Personally I felt very good before this little hiccup. I think it is part of the game, we are professional sportsmen and injuries are around the corner. In this case it is a small thing that will keep me out for another one, maximum two games. In some respects that is reassuring: then, the fact that it&#8217s two or three games of this caliber with the Italy jersey, to miss them is always very difficult to accept, but if the result is this, with the boys coming on the field and beating Australia, it was really exciting”.

“Having the’opportunity to watch it from the outside was something different – added the Blue -: of course I wanted to be on the field. The boys played really well and I noticed how much they inspired those watching. That is a point we often repeat to each other within the group, to share with those who follow us and with ourselves in the group, what we are doing and who we are. I think Saturday was a’very good opportunity to demonstrate this”.

“I think the enthusiasm that comes with a national team winning, at a time when there are the most important games internationally and so many Benetton Rugby players are performing at their best, is good for the club in itself. Not just the enthusiasm that is created during these three weeks off, where you have time to work on some aspects of the game that you can&#8217t always devote as much time to during the season. I think these two things together make for great strides when we come back; that will be the’goal” concluded Lamaro.
