Marta Bassino, who fell in training in Val Senales while preparing for her season debut in the World Cup and the Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, causing a fracture of the tibial plateau in her left leg, spoke to Sky Sport 24 about her recovery. Here are the words of the Cuneo native from Borgo San Dalmazzo.

“Recovery is going well. The knee is reacting well to physiotherapy, we are working on mobility and muscle reactivation, because I still cannot put my foot down. Tomorrow will be three weeks since the injury but we are happy with how it”s going.

“I have fallen many and many times and nothing had ever happened to me. This time, however, I was unlucky, I heard cracking and I knew it was serious. Now I am here working at J-Medical, where there are also Federica Brignone and Flora Tabanelli.”

“Fede is very far along in her recovery, it has been seven months since she got hurt, but on her possible participation in the Olympics she is silent. After being away so much she is tough, she hasn&#8217t said more to me.”

“I understand her, it is a very delicate thing and you cannot predict anything a priori. For us skiers, coming back perfect athletically is not enough: you have to put on skis, boots, get your confidence back. The step is huge”.
