Marc Marquez told the Spanish sports daily As about his current condition after the crash that caused him to miss the last MotoGP races, with the MotoGP title already clinched. And he also clarifies the yellow of the bent screw in his right shoulder.

“When I crashed in Indonesia, they took an X-ray and you could see this bent screw. However, my physiotherapist, Carlos GarcĂa, told me not to worry because I’ve been racing like this all year – Marquez said, quote quoted by Formula Passion -It’s an issue that goes back to 2019, when I had surgery on my shoulder after breaking my humerus.”

“That surgery did not go well because one screw broke completely and one bent. It’s getting worse, but it’s something I live with. Only me and my doctors know what’s inside that arm. But I am working for 2026 so that people can only talk about my achievements. Being more or less competitive in 2026 will depend on my fitness, not on whether or not I do the Valencia tests, or on doing a few more races in 2025. That is my priority for this winter.”

“When I arrived in Madrid, they really saw what the situation was like. The doctors warned me that it would take time because there was ligament and bone involvement. The initial plan was more conservative and did not involve any surgery, but they had already warned me that when the inflammation subsided, I would wake up with my collarbone out of place.”

“Then they saw that it was an unstable fracture, so they operated. But it’s an injury that didn’t affect previous injuries. Sepang testing? I can’t confirm 100 percent that I will be there, but I hope to be on a bike well before the Sepang tests, but respecting the schedule, X-rays and CT scans. But the rehabilitation recovery is going very well.”
