Jannik Sinner plays modest but sends a clear message to Carlos Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner spoke after ending the round robin of the Atp Finals undefeated without conceding a single set to his opponents. “It was a tough match, I just tried to stay there mentally and especially against a player like this”.

“It&#8217s been a very good match, the audience helped me so much and I want to thank them. I am happy to be in the semifinals, I will try to play with good energy then we will see how it goes”.

“We are working a lot, Shelton has been very aggressive on my second ball, I have been trying to vary more – added the’former world No. 1. We are trying to do the right things and they are working well right now, we are trying to go as far as we can in this tournament”.

“I had an amazing season with four Slam finals and two wins. To do these results you have to play tennis of the highest moment. I played very well in Australia and also on indoor courts. I am happy with the progress I am making. I am serving better and smarter. These are small steps forward”.

Closing on big rival: “Alcaraz ended the year as number one and I am happy for him, he is an amazing and incredible player who always pushes me to train more and better. Carlos and I are normal people with a normal family and we have the best people around us. We trust our teams. I knew it would be difficult to take first place, but considering the season I had I couldn&#8217t play any better. Let’s see next year how things will go”.
