Ninna Quario: "Faith does not want to be a heroine"

Ninna Quario, former skier and mother of Federica Brignone, talked to Tutti convocati on Radio 24 to clarify the news that had been circulating about an imminent return of Brignone on skis, news already denied by FISI.
“How did the news come out about Fede’s resumption of training on skis? She was at the ATP Finals in Turin and there, with interviews and people going around, she said ‘I hope to ski next week’ meaning the week to come, not this one we are in. So someone interpreted it that way. Even Davide (Brignone’s brother and coach ed) who was interviewed by the Gazzetta, said we are waiting for the’ok from the medical consultation, that is, from the doctor who sees her at J Medical, from the physiotherapist, from the athletic trainer and then we go, but I don’t think there has been this green disk yet. The fitness for meets and competitions obviously isn’t there yet. She will also have to figure out what to do, fiscally speaking, also because Fede is a carabiniere and is on sick leave right now. But if she wants to come skiing in Cervinia with her mom, maybe she can do it” though.
“What I can say – adds Federica’s mother to Radio 24 – for sure is that there was no dietrology, that is, a wanting to be a heroine in saying I can make it, I can’t make it, then arriving and being treated as a hero. That’s just not Faith’s way, it was really serious injury. The doctors told us ten months to walk which meant February and instead she, with incredible motivation and very intense work, it has been almost eight months and she is walking and hoping to ski soon”.
