World Cup Qualification 2026: Romania-San Marino, the probable formations

At 8:45 p.m. Romania receives San Marino at Bucharest’s Arena Națională in a match that pits two teams with opposite prospects against each other. The hosts, already certain to participate in the 2026 World Cup play-offs thanks to their first-place finish in their Nations League group, are looking for redemption after the loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The guests, on the other hand, who finish Group H in last place, will try to avoid their’eighth defeat in eight.
Lucescu is expected to rely on Răzvan Marin, Marius Marin and Nicolae Stanciu in the middle of the field, with former Parma Man and Mihăilă manning the side lanes. At the center of the attack could be Birligea, called upon to replace the disqualified Denis Drăguș, who was sent off in the last match against Bosnia.
On the other side, Cevoli could confirm the traditional 4-3-3, with Golinucci, Valli and Casadei in the middle of the field, behind the trident composed of Zannoni, Berardi and Lazzari.
Probable lineups
