Gabriele Benetti makes a promise two months after serious injury

Two months after the serious injury in training and the subsequent surgery to treat the injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, Gabriele Benetti, associate captain of Estra Pistoia, told about his rehabilitation path, confirming that he has only one goal: to return to the parquet as soon as possible.

“The recovery is going very well and we are very pleased with the progress – explained the 1995 class basketball player – it is obvious that the path is long but I remain super charged with the idea of coming back. When I got hurt my world certainly fell apart since we were leaving for a redemption season and I was fine physically. Compared to previous injuries, however, I took it differently by trying to stay positive”.

“That is why I want to stay as close as possible to my teammates – Benetti said again -, without showing me down but always bringing a positive attitude. In this period certainly the one who has been closest to me is my wife (Alice Sabatini, basketball player and model, winner of Miss Italy 2015, ed), who almost took it worse than I did when the injury happened”.

“But for me– added still the’former of, among others, Virtus Bologna and Roma– this has become a personal challenge: so many have given me up for finished and I want to prove that I can come back. I owe it to myself and also to my parents who made so many sacrifices so that I could become a player”.
